Tails gave the gear a second turn, completing yet another revolution. His sooted fingers moved along with the wrench, working beneath the Tornado. Twisting gears, of course. And fixing wires, adjusting cables... there was a lot of work to be done. His pride and joy, that machine... but for now, the yellow fox would rest, laying back completely and closing his eyes. His grip loosened as his hand did, but the metal tool remained softly tucked behind his thumb.
"Hey Tails?"
A soft palm nudged his head, leaving the young mechanic to wake and blink sleepily before a set of wide-awake eyes.
"Mmhn... Cream?"
"I'm sorry to wake you," the little rabbit bent forward to have a better look, Cheese peeking over her shoulder. "You look like you've been working very hard... I’ve brought you something, in case you were hungry."
Tails closed his eyes and took a deep breath, smiling as he felt a warm, sweet aroma sweep under his senses. A woven basket of strawberries lain next to him, brilliant and red, flecked with pink specks and capped in fresh leaves. Noting his gloves were dirty, he carefully picked one of the fruit and took a bite—delicious. The yellow fox was definitely revived now.
"Wow, Cream... I love these! Where did... are these fresh?"
"I picked them on the way here." Cream's face brightened up as well. "A hill near your workshop in Mystic Ruins. I'm surprised you haven't seen it."
"Really?" He was curious now—how long had it been since he really explored Mystic Ruins? "I guess I've been caught up with my work lately... since Metal Sonic and everything."
"It's right outside... I can show you, if you like!"
"Of course! The Tornado's gonna be finished for quite a while now. Just let me crawl out of—here..."
The young mechanic's palm was pressed on the stems of three dandelions—cushioned with batches of grass the followed the strawberries next to it. He tried to ignore this as his cheeks pinkened and stepped from under his handiwork.

"Cream... this is..."
The field lain out before them, strewn with grass and sky. Of course, there were strawberry bushes, plucky and begging to be picked. Right now, they sat upon the very top of the hill, the universe before them.
The little rabbit only let out a warm laugh. "You can only get here by flying."
She held a bloomed dandelion before her, and blown. Like freed fairies, the puffy white seeds toke flight, joining the clouds and dancing into the highest of the heavens.
And they will fly higher.
Yes, I know. The ending was... yeah. XD Yay, Tails... I like Tails. ^^ He was my favorite... back then. XD And I like Cream, she's cute. ^^ I'm glad I got to write something about them. :) This song is a LEETLE Tailsish, too. A leetle bit.
