Dipping my toes into 8tracks with a Homura FST I made a few years back, updated with a couple new songs! Based mainly on the original series, with sprinkles of Rebellion.

1. Within Temptation - Frozen

Can't tell the reasons, I did it for you
When lies turn into truth, I sacrificed for you
You say that I'm frozen, but what can I do?


Homura in a nutshell. "Frozen" could refer not only to her increasingly distant personality, but also the fact that she's stuck running the same time-loop over and over again... "frozen in time," to put it that way.

Your rescue squad

3. The Cure - A Forest

Suddenly I stop

The girl was never there
It's always the same
I'm running towards nothing
Again and again and again


With each failed time-line, Homura gets more and more consumed with saving Madoka. What purpose does her life have if she fails?


4. Hikaru Utada - Boulevard of Broken Dreams

I'm walking down the line
That divides me somewhere in my mind
On the border line of the edge
And where I walk alone

Read between the lines
What's fucked up and everything's all right
Check my vital signs to know I'm still alive
And I walk alone


The path of a time-travelling magical girl is a lonely one.


5. Patrick Wolf - Tristan

I am the tragedy and the heroine
I am lost and I am rescuing
The storm is come and I am following
My name is Tristan and I am alive


Homura speaks from grim experience, yet maintains her grit. As explained in "Army of Me" and "A Forest," giving up is NOT an option.

Somewhere in eternity

The most Rebellion-specific song of the FST, focusing on Homura's thought processes and foreshadowing her ultimate decision.

This is the sound I've been making my whole life
I've been waiting for this night
To clear up all the talk
Although I'm selfish to a fault

"I was waiting for this moment." Homura's transformation in Rebellion. REBELLION ENDING.

8. Train - Ordinary

And when the world is on it's knees with me

Everybody seems to be getting what they need
Where's mine?

But I'm anything but ordinary


But in another timeline... Homura becomes the lead warrior of justice in the new universe that Madoka has created. SERIES ENDING.
