15minuteficlets for a while, I decided to go and give it a go at one of these kind of fics. And oh my God, that was so much fun! :D Chances are I did a sucky job, but wow! I'm so happy I did this. I aughta do more of these. ^_^ So now, I bring you this:
Title: Another Showdown

He found himself before Bowser, ready for the bloody fight. Beyond the Koopa King waited a kind, patient soul—that of a beautiful princess named Peach. It wasn’t the only time he and the spiky being had met like this... it was a cycle that seemed never ending. Peach would be kidnapped, he’d follow, he’d win. And every time, King Bowser would hate him more. He could hear him chuckle to himself now, cracking those clawed knuckles of his. Within the fury walls of the dark, stoned castle, they were ready.
"So Mario, we meet again!" the Koopa King boasted. "For the last time anyway... this time, I’ll keep hold of your precious princess and the kingdom will be mine to rule!"
"You always say that," the plumber smiled optimistically. "Well, shall we get started to see who’s right?"
"Not a problem!" Bowser chuckled. "Prepare yourself!"
With a roar, he breathed a stream of flames, which Mario quickly ducked. Bowser this time began sending smaller fireballs, and the crackling bits of matter shot like comets. Immediately, the plumber responded with his own powers, casting his trademark flame from his palm. Their two attacks exploded, showering bright embers over their heads. Mario charged again, in hopes of ramming the Koopa King with a fire punch.
It was just the moment Bowser had been waiting for. Immediately, he made a swipe for the plumber, catching him by the fist. Mario was flung against the wall, calling a shocked cry. Staggered while standing up, he placed his gloved hand on his face and stared at it with disbelieved shock. He knew that red liquid all too well… then he smiled, readying himself once more.
"I wouldn’t want you to ruin my mustache, dear Bowser. Now, shall we continue?"
