Well, I actually turned 16 nearly a week ago, but the family was driving that day to Texas, so there wasn't any time to party. That, and August 22nd is a very obscure birthday anyway. XD Well, I just partied today and got a lot of the birthday presents I want, so I'm good. ^^ There's just one thing missing though, and that is the shippiness... so I wrote Geno/Mallow fic. Yes, you read that right. I wrote a Geno/Mallow fanfic. Yes, world, FEAR ME! MUWAhahahaha! Ah, ahem. ^^; I'm such a sap.

Title: Feathers of an Early Bird
Author: Jigglypuff in Blue Ribbons
Fandom: Super Mario RPG
Genre: General/Romance
Rating: G
Warnings: Shounen-ai luff. :D
Pairing: Geno/Mallow
Finished: Yes

Warmth. While he was asleep, it was the first thing he sensed for the upcoming day. With a toss and turn, Mallow clutched the blankets closer to himself, savoring every moment of slumber he could. Yet, he couldn’t deny the room was growing less dark, and eventually there wouldn’t be an inkling of the night left.

The fluffy prince stretched his arms and legs, opening his eyes to the hotel room where he and his companions stayed. The princess Peach lay peacefully, almost like something out of a fairy tale. Mario rested nearby, his snoring becoming more apparent the longer Mallow was awake. Bowser was close, out of his spiked shell and in his undershirts, twisting violently and flipping on his stomach, the large mattress, blankets, and pillow his means of comfort for his bulky body. He smiled in his sleep; whatever he was dreaming about the fluffy prince had a guess, yet at the same time he didn’t really want to know. He didn’t see Geno anywhere; wherever he was, he decided he had to be outside.

“Mmm…” He yawned and set his feet on the floor, walking his way toward the bathroom.

Feeling much more alive, Mallow dried himself and wrapped a light-blue towel around his waist, the rough, yet soft material firmly hugging him. He placed another towel in his hair, squeezing the water out of the small, pink tuft. Steamy air permeated throughout the room, the fogged mirror and moistened silver doorknob evidence of this. Cool air breezed his clean face when he opened the door, leaving it only slightly closed while he stepped back into the hotel room.

“Hey, good morning.”

Across the room, Geno seated at the end of his bed, turning his head as soon as his friend emerged.

“Don’t scare me like that!” the fluffy prince scolded. “I mean, one minute you’re gone, then right there and—”

“Mario and the others are still asleep.” the wooden doll chuckled. “Surely you don’t want to wake them?”

“Ah, you’re right…” the fluffy prince bowed his head in embarrassment. He turned to the others, still soundly in slumber. Relieved, he faced his friend again, his mood uplifting. “But it’s sure nice seeing you, though. First thing in the morning…”

He wrapped his arms around Geno, closing his eyes as he tucked his head comfortably against the wooden doll’s shoulder. The embrace returned, Geno watched over the small boy, a warm, if sad smile, spread across his face.

“Mallow… you DO know after we find the Star Pieces, I’ll be going home, right?”
“Yeah… I knew that.”
“Just wanted to be sure you knew… that’s all.”
“Geno...”
"Nevermind." the wooden doll shook his head. "I'm just happy you're here."
"Geno..."

The fluffy prince lifted his hand up to the back of the wooden doll’s neck, suddenly drawing his face toward himself. Geno’s eyes widened in shock, his lips held against another’s; it didn’t take long, however, for them to close. Euphoria took over the doll; his whole self glowed by an inner peace. Eventually, their lips separated, and Mallow was looking upon him with eyes wide open. His face had turned beet red, but it didn’t take long for the fluffy prince to speak:

“Well…” he breathed. “There’s no way I’ll forget you… after this.”

The wooden doll chuckled, and soon their faces were brought together again. He leaned back into the bed, holding Mallow so the fluffy prince wouldn’t fall off and stay atop of him. Eventually, they lain side-by-side, wrapped in complete bliss of the morning.

“Unghhh… Geno? Mallow? Whu… what are you two doing?”

The End
