Now it's [livejournal.com profile] kitarachan's turn. :D I had a different ficlet in mind, but alas... I didn't know the fandom. XD Hopefully you're still uppity with a certain SMRPG couple, eh? It didn't turn out as shippy as I had hoped, but I hope you're happy with it nonetheless. ;D Anyway, here ya go, as promised by the meme. :D

Title: Glow
Author: Jigglypuff in Blue Ribbons
Fandom: Super Mario RPG
Genre: 15-Minute-Ficlet/General
Rating: G
Warnings: Spoilers to the End of the Game TM and mild fluff
Pairings: Geno/Mallowish...
Finished: Yes

Interest: Geno x Mallow

I held a jewel in my fingers...

He was... going. Really going. But it was not as if he were dead—that wasn't the case at all. He was going home... home.

For that few precious seconds, he was flying over him... over his hands. And Mallow was happy—his raised fingers were lit with warmth while Geno passed by. One two three, one two three... it was like everyone held magic in their hands, something precious. And then, he was flying... away like a dove, not to be seen again.

They saw Exor. They watched him disappear, disintegrating into little particles of dust. They saw him again... and the sky cleared. From a bloody red to a cavernous blue, vast and stretching its light over the cliff once more. And that bright shooting star in the air... it came upwards, didn't it?

"Geno... you'll be home right?"

Mallow held the doll by the hand, his eyes never leaving the sky. He held him in his hand... even when he wasn't quite there anymore. Somehow, he had a feeling if he stayed on the cliff, he'd be back to talk to him again, for the last time. They've already been through so much, and no farewell seemed good enough.

Mallow waited, his arms around the doll, then turned around to catch up with his friends—his fingers still warm.

I held a jewel in my fingers...

And no, I did not have "Amethyst Remembrance" in my head when I wrote this, why do you ask? XD ^^; Not to mention this song was based on a poem by Emily Dickenson, too... I oughta see more "Yami no Matsuei" sometime. *BRICK*
