Someone requested Gardevoir/Gallade BL? I'm on it like butter on toast. I'm a sucker for this sort of thing. :3
Title: Justified
Author: Puri
Fandom: Pokémon
Genre: Romance
Rating: G
Warnings: None.
Ships/Characters: Male!Gardevoir/Gallade
Finished: Yes
Heaven forbid to be an adamant Kirlia without a Dawn Stone. Before his self-imposed exile, Gallade made a promise to his friend, who evolved into Gardevoir, that he would come back stronger... that he would be worthy enough to protect him.
As a Ralts, Gallade always had trouble maintaining his psychic abilities. He wanted to charge, to attack, while his brothers and sisters were patient and defensive. It wasn't that he wasn't clever or graceful; this was made evident by his swift movements as a Kirlia. He was insistent to use his arms and feet to deliver physical blows, which wasn't what his kind was known for. But he was far weaker without them, and he hated himself for it.
"Gardevoir... it's me."
Now he stood before his old friend, who believed in him from the get-go. Gardevoir, with the piercing red eyes and the graceful footstep. The one out of a crowd of shaking heads who looked him in the eye and said, Don't listen to them. I believe in you. The two Ralts became inseparable. One possessed quiet elegance and protected the other from words and scorn. The other guarded him in return and fought headstrong against any Pokemon that dared to hurt him. Now they were grown up, and they were different. They weren't both Gardevoirs.
"Kirlia?"
"It's Gallade now. I know it's not what you expected... I hope you're not disappointed in me."
Because he loved Gardevoir. Much more than a friend, much more than a partner. He wanted to devote his life to him, rather than any beautiful fairy-tale princess or queen in the world. Unconventional? Perhaps. But so was a Kirlia who dealt with physical strength.
"Why should I be disappointed? You're back! Do you know how long I've been waiting?"
"I missed you... I would've been home sooner. But more than anything, I wanted you to be proud of me."
"I am, Gallade. I am." Gardevoir spread his soft lithe arms around Gallade and held him. "Is there another reason for the delay?"
"I..." Gallade's eyes widened, and he felt as if he might cry. He returned the embrace, careful not to let the blades get in the way.
"I suppose you've forgotten my telepathy's gotten stronger. I would ask for no other knight to love me as you do."
