Diamonds in the Sky
Apr. 29th, 2006 05:07 pmFirst off, people. Writing Rouge/Amy had to be the hardest thing I've ever written. Seriously. ._.;;;; I must've rewritten the entire thing like, oh... three times. Or two. I think by that third time, I finally picked something I was pleased with. XDDD;;; But this is for
yamikaosu and she rocks, so viola, she gets what she wants~~ I apologize if this isn't what you've hoped. ._.;;;; But I gave it my best shot! *nodnod* But I still phail at life. XDDD;;; Meanwhile...

The stars shimmered like silver glitter in the Twinkle Park sky, the silhouette of a ferris wheel blurring with the blacks, yellows, and lime-greens of the carnival. Beyond the game stands, roller coasters, and houses of mirrors, a tower skyscrapered like a sorcerer’s study, a moon-white clock plastered on top as black fingers etched themselves to the minutes and hours. Beneath the pointed spire, an empty square platform stood between columns as the festive breeze hushed through. A violet chrysalis hung beneath the ceiling, lightly shuddering as devil wings spread apart.
Amy was desperately dizzy, whether she was worried of falling or hanging upside down, she wasn’t sure. And the kiss—! It clouded her thoughts completely, and the carnival below blurred into a dream. The pink hedgehog clung tighter to the white bat, and when warm, crafty whispers brushed her lips once more, it seemed she were already floating without her help. Her feet no longer touched the surface of the ceiling in reality, and the pink hedgehog gasped as they both flipped right side up—her green eyes widened as Rouge simply lifted her in her arms, setting her down once they seated inside the tower. Amy shivered as the violet wings and that… arm, curled around her shoulders once more. But whether it was the wind or Rouge, she’d have to let the blood rush back to her head first.
“Like a diamond in the sky…” The white bat had that usual crafty smirk upon her face, giving a nod to the indeed twinkling stars. “This was what you always wanted, hasn’t it? You have your sky, I have my stars…”
“And we have each other.” Amy finished, nodding as she let her hand rest upon hers. She had wandered Twinkle Park before, but she never saw it from this view before. She blinked while she continued to gaze into the gem-streaked sky. Rouge said it herself once, and she was right: objects looked prettiest when seen up close.
