Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate brotherly Sonic & Tails friendshippy fluff for
galuxkitty! 'Bout time I got my knuckles crackin' to finish up the final two drabbles, eh? I had this in my notebookish diary for a while, so here we have it, like book to movie, I've adapted this drabble from journal to computer screen~! Not that it's really much of a difference. *cough* But anyway, read on! 'Tis overdue, after all. XD
Title: Wooden Tails
Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog
Genre: General
Rating: G
Warnings: Corny title... wait, too late. XDD;;
Ships: None. But centered on Sonic & Tails nonetheless.
Finished: Yes
It was the first workshop he ever built, though one couldn’t exactly call it a “workshop” back then. But it taught Tails important skills here and there, like location and the importance of it, like achieving the right amount of shade and sun and how well it stayed hidden. The tree itself was another matter, like how old it was, whether it was stable enough, and the amount of branches were there. Were he younger, he wouldn’t have calculated these things, or even thought about them.
The fox brushed against Sonic’s shoulder nonetheless, the wood aged and thickened in a beard of moss. As a squirrel scurried and a Flicky whistled its distant tune, Tails had to worry whether the floor boards would crumble beneath them. The tree had been long dead—ancient and past-forgotten, but wise and beautiful like home.
“Well Tails, considering all the work you put into this tree house, I doubt it’s going anywhere from our memories anytime soon!”
The young mechanic nodded, closing his eyes in peace. Even if his first base did collapse, it didn’t mean he couldn’t help catch his friend before they fell. Like architecture, flying came natural to him.
