Bleeeeeeeeeegh. I'm not that happy with this. Was written for the Smash Bros. Kink Meme (id_smash_that ). Basically inspired by something Jack said in the end of "Into the Woods" that touched me. Too bad I totally screwed up Mother 3 canon and even Pokemon canon too. Yuck. Here it is anyway:

It was hard to believe Jigglypuff, who was once a clueless valley girl who arrived from nowhere, had become a three-time veteran. She was a Pokemon that was always there, through the good and the bad. It seemed natural to talk to her when things went wrong; the puffy Pokemon may have been naive, but she wasn't stupid. She wasn't as shallow as her bubblegum pink form suggested, and she stayed to listen no matter how horrifying the story. Being a Pokemon with their own language, she couldn't judge you either. Just look and take it all in her massive frame.

"Jigglypuff? I know it's strange, but... " Lucas blushed. "I want a Pokemon too! Like Red, my friend... at least one to keep me company until I find Boney again."

Jigglypuff wavered her giant green eyes.

What for?

"Puff?"
"I-It's not like anything Porky uses, right? Else, Charizard and Squirtle and Ivy mi-might have been..."
Pokemon aren't meant to be tools in any way. Only bad trainers like Team Rocket abuse us! It's illegal to genetically alter Pokemon! L-Like Porygon, they...

Mewtwo. This motion made Jigglypuff uncomfortable, and she shook her body uncomfortably. "Jig...?"
"I'm sorry, I..."
Red's a good person. He'd never do anything like that, so don't worry! You've got a great friend~
Lucas sighed. "Jigglypuff? What Pokemon would you think I'd have?"

For this, Jigglypuff uncapped a black marker, beginning to scribble a sketch on a blank sheet of paper. She held it up for Lucas, showing him what seemed to him a crude drawing of a mushroom in a dress.

"Uh..."
This is Ralts! They're psychic and sweet like you, and sense the emotions of other Pokemon and benefit from your happiness!
"I don't know... I don't think I'm comfortable with mushroom Pokemon..."

The pink balloon was tempted to puff up in frustration over her art being reduced to something it wasn't, but she kept her patience, drawing quickly on the back of the paper. Oooh...! Just wait a minute!

At first, Lucas thought it was a grass blade--then he realized the shape had developed into something else. A woman... a guardian in a gown.

"Gardevoir? I remember her!"
Yep yep! That's what Ralts evolves into eventually! She's a protector who gives her life for her trainer and those she loves!
"...Oh. Like...?" But in reality, Lucas already knew. "...Does Gardevoir like sunflowers?"
"Jigs!?" Huh? Of course Gardevoirs like sunflowers! I think they would!

As the psychic boy pet the curl on her forehead, Jigglypuff became momentarily concerned. Lucas? Why do you want to be a Pokemon Trainer? To rebuild your--?

"NO!" Lucas shouted. "I will NEVER replace my family with anyone else! Not my mother, or brother, or dad... no, I don't want another mother. I want a friend. Won't you be my friend, Jigglypuff?"
The pink Pokemon blinked from this outburst, but nodded. It wasn't that Lucas saw this as Pokemon training any more than a bond among animals and creatures called Pokemon.

Jigglypuff jumped before taking his hand. Of course! I will~
